Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and Narsing Itkampalli, who runs ClipToVocab (“we”, “us”), for the ClipToVocab app, the website at cliptovocab.com and the service behind them. By using ClipToVocab you agree to them. Please also read the privacy policy, which explains what we do with your data.

Who can use ClipToVocab

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, use ClipToVocab only with your parent’s or guardian’s permission; they accept these terms for you.

Your account

  • You sign in with your Google account. Keep it secure: whatever happens through your account is your responsibility.
  • One account is for one person. Do not share it, sell it or use someone else’s.
  • Your username must not pretend to be someone else, and must not be rude or misleading. We may change a username that breaks these rules.

What you post

You can post comments, replies, sentences, stories and other Moments. You keep the rights to what you write. You let us store it, show it to other learners as your privacy settings allow, and use it inside ClipToVocab (for example on Moments, on your profile and under a clip). This permission ends when your post is deleted, except where others have already replied to it or saved it.

Do not post anything that:

  • bullies, threatens, harasses or insults anyone,
  • attacks people for their religion, caste, race, gender, sexuality, disability or where they come from,
  • is sexual, violent or shocking, or involves children in any harmful way,
  • shares someone’s personal information (phone number, address, photos) without their permission,
  • pretends to be someone else, or misleads people about who you are,
  • is spam, advertising, or links to scams,
  • breaks the law, or someone’s copyright or other rights.

Report and block. You can report a comment, Moment, profile, clip, video, word or lesson question from its menu, and block anyone from their profile. A blocked person cannot see you or reach you.

How we keep it safe. Sentences and comments are checked automatically when they are posted, and we read reports. We may hide or remove content, limit what an account can do, or block an account that breaks these terms, with or without warning. If you think we got it wrong, write to [email protected].

Videos

Videos in ClipToVocab are YouTube videos, played only in YouTube’s own embedded player, for language learning. They belong to their creators; we do not host them, copy them or offer them for download. By watching videos in ClipToVocab, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. A video can stop being available at any time if its owner or YouTube removes it.

Subtitles are shown beside a video only to help you follow it and learn its words. Do not copy, publish or sell them, or the meanings and lessons, outside ClipToVocab.

The word meanings, levels, spoken explanations and lessons are curated by our team to help you learn. We work hard on them, but they can contain mistakes. If you find one, report it from the word or clip.

Creators and rights owners: if you do not want your content in ClipToVocab, write to [email protected] and we will remove it. See Copyright and content removal.

AI feedback

Feedback on the sentences you write comes from an AI (Google Gemini). It is usually helpful and sometimes wrong. Treat it as a friendly second opinion, not as a teacher’s final word, and never as professional advice.

Gems, energy and the other things you earn

Gems, energy, XP, levels, streaks, streak freezes, boosters, badges, league places and quest rewards are part of the game in ClipToVocab. They:

  • have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money,
  • cannot be sold, transferred or traded between accounts,
  • are a licence to use them in ClipToVocab, not property you own,
  • may be changed, rebalanced or reset, for example when we change how the game works, and
  • may be corrected or removed if they came from a mistake, a bug or cheating.

Anything left when your account is deleted is lost, and nothing is refunded for it.

VIP

VIP is a paid membership with extra benefits, shown in the app before you buy.

  • Billing: VIP in the Android app is sold through Google Play, monthly or yearly. Google takes the payment and Google Play’s terms apply to it.
  • It renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. If the price changes, Google tells you first and asks before charging you more.
  • Cancel any time in Google Play: open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions, ClipToVocab, Cancel. You can also start from Settings, VIP membership in the app.
  • After you cancel, VIP lasts until the end of the period you paid for, then ends. Deleting your account stops renewals too.
  • Refunds are explained on the refunds and cancellations page.
  • “Unlimited” means for your own learning. Unlimited energy and unlimited AI feedback are for one person learning by hand, at a person’s pace. They do not cover automated or scripted use, a shared account, or use far beyond what one person learning could do. To keep ClipToVocab working for everyone, we may slow down or pause that kind of use. Ordinary learning, however much of it, never comes close.
  • We may sometimes give VIP as a gift. A gift ends on the date shown with it.
  • We may change what VIP includes. If we take away something important, we will tell you before your next renewal.

Ads

The free version may show ads, including ads you choose to watch for gems or energy. Rewards from ads are virtual, like everything above. Ads come from Google AdMob (see the privacy policy).

Fair use

Do not:

  • cheat, use bots or scripts, or use several accounts to win XP, leagues, quests or rewards,
  • copy ClipToVocab’s lessons, meanings or other content in bulk, or scrape the service,
  • try to break into, overload, or get around the limits of ClipToVocab or its server,
  • post, write or send requests faster or in greater numbers than a person could. We limit how fast and how much one account can post and ask for AI feedback, so nobody can flood ClipToVocab or run up its costs,
  • take apart the app, except where the law allows,
  • use ClipToVocab to break any law.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time (see Delete your account). We may suspend or block your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other people. If your account is blocked, you can write to us at [email protected]. We may also stop offering ClipToVocab; if we do, we will tell you in advance where we can and refund any VIP time you paid for and cannot use.

Our responsibility

We provide ClipToVocab “as is”. We try to keep it running, correct and safe, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, free of mistakes or right for your purpose, or that it will make you fluent.

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses (such as lost opportunities or data), and our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for VIP in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Indian consumer law that cannot be taken away.

The law and the courts

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be decided by the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana. Before going to court, please write to us: most problems are solved faster that way.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we change the date at the top. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it applies. If you keep using ClipToVocab after that, you accept the new terms.
