Videos, shorts and words
Watch a video and tap words
Live subtitles, meanings in context, and saving a word.
Open any video from Home or search. It plays in YouTube’s own player, with ClipToVocab’s subtitles under it.
Tap a word
Tap any word in the subtitle line. Its meaning card shows:
- the word and its part of speech (verb, noun, idiom…),
- its level, from A1 for beginners to C2,
- what it means in this sentence, not every meaning it can have,
- a button to hear the meaning, and when the word is said in the video.
From the card you can Save the word, Use it (write your own sentence with it) or open Details for more.
New words, marked
Words the video teaches are underlined in the subtitles and listed under the video as they come. Words you have not met before are marked new for you.
